When and Why do we Celebrate World Sleep Day

World Sleep Day is celebrated around the world, every year on the Friday before the Spring Vernal Equinox. In the year 2024, it is observed on 15th March. World Sleep Day is organized by the World Sleep Society, which has aimed to spread awareness about the importance of healthy sleep habits and the society also tries to focus on the issue of sleep deprivation. 

The Origins of World Sleep Day

World Sleep Day was launched by the World Sleep Society which is a global organization dedicated to bring awareness about the advancing sleep health around the world. It was first introduced in 2008 due to the increasing prevalence of sleep disorders and growing awareness about the effects of sleep deprivation on mental and physical health.
